Level 3 NVQ: Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment
About Course
Your knowledge and skills are assessed by performance units consisting of real evidence. The 2357-44 Level 3 Diploma covers the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors across a range of units on new installations including applying health, safety and environmental considerations, Inspection and testing, and overseeing and organising the work environment. Evidence will be obtained through a range of methods including witness testimonies, photographic evidence and site observations by assessors.
This qualification is available at Level 3 only, which is the level that the Electrotechnical industry recognises learners as having achieved the competence required to carry out the role.
The City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ is required to apply for the JIB ECS Gold Card. To work on JIB building sites you will need their ECS card to be recognised as an electrician. This is often the final course needed in becoming an electrician, and candidates need to have successfully completed their 2365 Level 2 and 3 and to be working in the industry to enrol on the course.
Once your portfolio has been completed, you will be required to undertake a practical assessment called an AM2. This typically involves a series of timed tasks, assessing skills in electrical installation that electricians encounter daily.
Price:
NVQ Level 3 in 2025: £2,499.00 including VAT.
NVQ Level 3 in 2026: £3,499.00 including VAT.
Please note that the cost of our NVQ Level 3 course also includes enrolment to the E-Portfolio, Learning Assistant, two site visits by the assessor, certification and the AM2 assessment.
An Experienced Worker Route is available for candidates that can prove that they have been working in the electrical industry for the last five years without a break in employment. For full details please give us a call to discuss.
